FOR COLLEGE DANCE PROGRAMS
Are you a college dance program director that wants to bring a new, unique, and relevant professional dance experience to your campus? Book Roger Lee's College Dance Residency! This semester-long on-campus dance program includes...
1 DANCE MASTER CLASS
Roger Lee teaches an 90-minute advanced dance master class (choose from Broadway Dance, Afro-Jazz Dance, Contemporary Dance, Hip-Hop Dance, and Praise Dance) on your campus during the fall semester or spring semester, includes a full body warmup, across-the-floor combinations, and a group dance routine that he choreographed. Taking this master class should help your dance students improve their confidence, versatility, technique, stage presence, and choreography retention. The more skilled your dance students are, the stronger your dance program will be.
1 CHOREOGRAPHY COMMISSION
Roger Lee choreographs and teaches a custom group dance piece for your student dance company to perform during their fall concert series or spring concert series. His on-campus choreographic process includes running a 2-hour audition, running 12 hours of rehearsal with the cast he chose, and participating in a 1-hour production meeting to set the piece's costumes and lighting. Booking this choreography commission will give your dance students the opportunity to work with a professional choreographer who is still active in the industry and add a strong piece to your student dance company's repertoire. The stronger your pieces are, the more likely your student dance company is to attract more student dancers and concert attendees. The more popular your student dance company is, the more likely it is to be supported by your department chair.
1 DANCE MAJOR PRESENTATION
Roger Lee gives a 40-minute presentation to Dance Majors on your campus during the fall semester or spring semester. During the 40-minute fall semester presentation First-Year Dance Major Tips, Roger shares his experiences from his first year as a Dance Major at a small liberal arts college in the suburbs, shares his tips for thriving as a first-year Dance Major at any college, and answers questions from the audience. During the 40-minute spring semester presentation Senior Dance Major Tips, Roger shares his experiences from his last year as a Dance Major at a small liberal arts college in the suburbs, shares his tips for thriving as a dance professional after graduating from college with a Dance Degree, and answers questions from the audience. Hearing one of these presentations should give your dance students more confidence, clarity, and motivation to thrive as Dance Majors or dance professionals. The more your current dance students and alumni thrive, the easier it will be to recruit and retain more Dance Majors for your Dance Program.
1 ROGER LEE DANCE COMPANY CONCERT
Roger Lee Dance Company performs a 40-minute concert on your campus during the fall semester or spring semester. The concert includes a 40-minute performance (2 acts), a 10-minute intermission in between acts, and a 10-minute cast Q & A session. The company performs their Gospel Music Celebration concert to celebrate National Gospel Music Heritage Month in September (during the fall semester) or their Black History Celebration concert to celebrate Black History Month in February (during the spring semester). Booking this concert will give your students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, trustees, and local community an opportunity to see an award-nominated, nationally recognized professional dance company perform on your campus and help your campus celebrate National Gospel Music Heritage Month or Black History Month through dance.
