FOR COMPETITION DANCE TEAMS
Are you a competition dance team director that wants to challenge your dance students to improve their technical skills and performance skills in 1 day? Book Roger Lee's Competition Dance Day! This 5-hour in-studio Saturday dance program includes...
1 DANCE MASTER CLASS (10-11 am)
Roger Lee teaches a 1-hour advanced dance master class (choose from Broadway Dance, Afro-Jazz Dance, Contemporary Dance, Hip-Hop Dance, or Praise Dance) for your competition dance team that runs at your studio and includes a full body warmup, across-the-floor combinations, and a group dance routine that he choreographed. Taking this master class should help your dance students improve their confidence, versatility, technique, stage presence, and choreography retention. The more skilled your dance students are, the stronger your competition dance team will be.
1 DANCE COMPETITION TIPS PRESENTATION (11-11:30 am)
Roger Lee gives a 30-minute presentation where he talks about his experience being a dance competition judge at the national level, shares his tips for impressing dance competition judges with your performance, and answers dance competition questions from the audience. Hearing this presentation should give your dance students more confidence, clarity, and motivation to perform like stars and impress dance competition judges at dance competitions. The more dance competitions your dance team wins, the easier it will be to recruit and retain more advanced, award-winning dance students on the team.
1 DANCE PERFORMANCE CRITIQUE (11:30 am-12 pm)
Roger Lee conducts a 30-minute dance performance critique where he watches your dance student(s) perform up to 2 of their competition routines and gives them individualized feedback on their performance. Receiving this critique should improve your dance students' confidence, technique, and stage presence and give the choreographer(s) inspiration and notes for strengthening the competition routine(s) they choreographed. The stronger your competition routines are, the more likely your competition dance team is to win dance competitions. The more dance competitions your competition dance team wins, the easier it will be to recruit and retain more advanced, award-winning dance students on the team.
1 CHOREOGRAPHY COMMISSION (1-4 pm)
Roger Lee choreographs and teaches a custom 2-minute solo, duet, or group dance routine for your dance student(s) to perform at their competitions. His in-studio choreographic process includes running a 3-hour rehearsal for the cast you chose. Learning this new routine should help your dance students improve their confidence, versatility, technique, stage presence, and choreography retention. Booking this choreography commission will give your dance students the opportunity to work with a professional choreographer who is still active in the industry and add a strong competition routine to your competition dance team's repertoire. The stronger your competition routines are, the more likely your competition dance team is to win dance competitions. The more dance competitions your dance competition team wins, the easier it will be to recruit and retain more advanced, award-winning dance students on the team.
